Assessment tasks are designed to enable students to demonstrate the Learning and Employability outcomes for the relevant level of study. Level Learning Outcomes are embedded in the assessment task(s) at that level. This enables a more integrated view of overall student performance at each level.

Further details relating to assessment
This module allows provides a variety of assessment opportunities to draw upon different student strengths. i.e. critical analysis and writing skills within the essay, and search, and synthesis of information for the group presentation.
The essay - will require students to draw upon their theoretical knowledge of one area studied within the growth and development module. It has been planned halfway through the first semester (an early assessment point) to allow students to maximise their chance of success and avoid clashes later in the semester. It will require students to consider ethical issues related the role of the coach.
Group assessment – This will require the students to negotiate a research area, and one not discussed in their individual essay. They will need to plan and deliver a group presentation based on an extension of the work covered in the seminars and practical sessions to demonstrate an understanding of the multi-disciplinary nature of coaching growing athletes.
