SHN5093 - Applying Professional Skills in Physical Education and School Sport

Objectives:

Assessment tasks are designed to enable students to demonstrate the Learning and Employability outcomes for the relevant level of study. Level Learning Outcomes are embedded in the assessment task(s) at that level. This enables a more integrated view of overall student performance at each level.

Content:

This module develops students’ employability skills by immersing them within the workplace. Initially the students will plan a teaching experience that will assist them on their placement and give them experience of designing short, medium and long term plans. They will be able to put this in to practice through practical sessions and on placements. The second half of the module will include a more traditional placement in the workplace which is four weeks in duration. The placement will allow the students the opportunity to build up a portfolio of teaching and coaching experiences. Taught content will prepare students to reflect on their placement experience.
