PSY6155 - Environmental Psychology

Objectives:

Assessment tasks are designed to enable students to demonstrate the Learning and Employability outcomes for the relevant level of study. Level Learning Outcomes are embedded in the assessment task(s) at that level. This enables a more integrated view of overall student performance at each level.

Content:

This module will look to explore how human beings impact upon, and are impacted upon by, the environment around them from a psychological perspective. Particular emphasis will be placed upon psychological approaches to understanding, assessing, and modifying peoples’ environmental awareness and behaviours, with the UN Sustainable Development Goals being used to underpin modular delivery throughout.

Further details relating to assessment
001: The negotiated group assessment will require students to select one (or more) of the UN Sustainable Development Goals and develop a resource designed to promote pro-environmental behaviours associated with their selection. Upon doing so, students will be given the opportunity to explore different approaches and formatting options such as: an educational workshop, a podcast series, an infographic series etc.
