PSY6135 - Forensic Psychology

Objectives:

Assessment tasks are designed to enable students to demonstrate the Learning and Employability outcomes for the relevant level of study. Level Learning Outcomes are embedded in the assessment task(s) at that level. This enables a more integrated view of overall student performance at each level.

Content:

This module option covers a broad spectrum of topics pertinent to the area of Forensic Psychology. Topics may include: theories of crime, violent and sexual offenders, treatment, female offenders, personality disorder, restorative justice, prisons and prisoners, risk assessment, forensic mental health and suicide and self-harm.

Further details relating to assessment
In addition to summative assessment detailed above. Formative assessment will take place in interactive lectures/workshops through the use of group activities and presentations to check the development of understanding with both staff and peer feedback.
