POL6063 - Contemporary Issues in Modern Investigation

Objectives:

Assessment tasks are designed to enable students to demonstrate the Learning and Employability outcomes for the relevant level of study. Level Learning Outcomes are embedded in the assessment task(s) at that level. This enables a more integrated view of overall student performance at each level.

Content:

This module will allow students to conduct research on issues for modern investigations. Students will choose a specific issue relevant to their chosen interest, which they will research using sound academic research methodology. Exploration of research options, sound research practices and appropriate presentation of the findings will be taught in lectures and one to one supervision creating a bespoke teaching element to this module.

Component 1: Research Project: The research project is 6,000 words and will be in an area of investigation specific to and researched by the student, based on the emerging issues in contemporary investigation.
