Assessment tasks are designed to enable students to demonstrate the Learning and Employability outcomes for the relevant level of study. Level Learning Outcomes are embedded in the assessment task(s) at that level. This enables a more integrated view of overall student performance at each level.
This module provides flexibility for students to pursue particular areas of interest and produce assessment work in an appropriate format to reflect broad engagement and understanding with their chosen field of study.
The module will allow students to pursue a specialist area outside of the normal module choice, although subject relevant, or allow them to negotiate assessment which links to other areas of study. For example, students who are producing film artefacts in other modules could use this module to research, outline and produce a PR campaign for the film.
The module coordinator must approve the original concept before the student proceeds. And then both tutor and student construct a project agreement between them.
The negotiation process with tutors will ensure that students can be fully supported in their chosen area and, and where they are linking work with other modules, integration may take place.

Further details relating to assessment
Students who have not agreed a project plan with the module tutor by the end of the first month will be unable to proceed on the module and will be required to transfer to another module on the programme. Completing the project plan will help unpack the assignment details for the 1st assignment as well as guide and inform student preparation and help introduce the University grading system.
Students give an individual presentation to a panel which consists of a ‘state of the project’ address. This is intended as a staging post so the student can show the development and pre-production work done thus far, critically evaluate it, and show adaptive goals and project outlines if needed.
