Assessment tasks are designed to enable students to demonstrate the Learning and Employability outcomes for the relevant level of study. Level Learning Outcomes are embedded in the assessment task(s) at that level. This enables a more integrated view of overall student performance at each level.
This module helps students to develop graduate skills, which the creative industries value and, in general, results in good professionals with an industry relevant work ethic and enquiring minds and who are engaged in the world around them. The Graduate Attributes identified by the University form the core experience and development for the student. It is intended that activities be ‘badged’, so that students can identify the value in each and relate activity, experience and career passport.
These skills are evidenced and can be assessed in other modules consisting of group or teamwork, production or work which requires presentation or professional communications. They form a key part of the final assessment block which contains the Integrated Assessment Period at the end of the year.

Further details relating to assessment
Assessment tasks are designed to measure the extent to which you have satisfied the Level Learning Outcomes for your programme. Some modules, for example where there are professional body (PSRB) requirements, will also test for module-specific skills and knowledge.
Semester 1 sees students creatively address a team brief to demonstrate active understanding in the structure and dynamics of working within a team. A team experience event needs to be given and the students can then reflect not only on their development in class team tasks, but how that culminates in the final experience event. It is expected that students present as a team, with dialogue and interaction, as well as supply appropriate visuals and handouts. Individually, the work sees students individually assessed on a limited presentation. The student will demonstrate confidence, communication skills, initiative and organisation to present a limited (pecha kucha style) personal ‘story telling’ idea.
The integrated assessment (Programme Level Assessment) and following professional challenge/placement finishes off the year and should allow plenty of scope for students to demonstrate their professional and graduate skills as enshrined in their career passport and skills assessment. The integrated assessment is a cohort-wide assessment which supportively replicates the working environment. This enables students to put into practice learning developed over Semesters 1 and 2 and demonstrate a range of skills within an industry context.
Further details of assessment are available in the Assessment Handbook for your programme and in Assessment Briefs provided by Module Tutors. Please note that Professional Challenge Project / Work Placement must be passed in accordance with University regulations.
