Assessment tasks are designed to enable students to demonstrate the Learning and Employability outcomes for the relevant level of study. Level Learning Outcomes are embedded in the assessment task(s) at that level. This enables a more integrated view of overall student performance at each level.
This module is part of a connected and work-based academic programme embedded across all three years of the degree. Students will draw on the professional skills attained at Levels 4 and 5 and further develop these to negotiate, deliver and reflect on a collaborative project with an employer. Students will negotiate assessment modes to provide the flexibility for them to apply theoretical understanding and practical work-based development in a chosen context. This could include a work-based project or intervention or an alternative professional development project within their work setting. Students will be expected to negotiate a project with their work partner or prior placement provider that meets the needs of both the work partner and the student’s skills development.

Further details relating to assessment
Semester 1 assessment – project proposal with intended outcomes and associated risk assessment should evidence a suitably skilled and safe project.
Semester 2 assessment - workplace hours to be pass / fail; where the skills pathway is chosen, students would be expected to complete and evidence the training and associated outputs. If students receive a fail in this component and a pass in the numeric calculated mark, the outcome will be 39FR (fail on requirements).
In relation to the work-placement, a tripartite sign-off form will be required. This form will include the details of the project outline by the student, will be verified by the employer and will be signed off by the study supervisor. This should also include an agreed pattern of working hours.
The employer will also be asked to submit 2 appraisal forms ( Mid-Feb Sem 2 and end Sem 2).
