JOU6033 - TV and Social Media Newsdays

Objectives:

Assessment tasks are designed to enable students to demonstrate the Learning and Employability outcomes for the relevant level of study. Level Learning Outcomes are embedded in the assessment task(s) at that level. This enables a more integrated view of overall student performance at each level.

Content:

Students will learn practical skills relating to capturing and editing television and social media artefacts including TV production and presentation. They will also complete a minimum 15 newsdays on Yorkshire Voice.

The Portfolio comprises pieces that demonstrate the ability to capture and edit TV content and social media artefacts.

The Newsdays and the Voice Training are BJTC requirements and reflect experience gained from realistic work scenarios.

Newsdays and Voice Training must be passed. BJTC accreditation requirement regarding newsdays and voice training.

Assessment:

001 Portfolio; equiv to 4,000 words; end of semester 1 70%
002 Newsdays; 15 days; 6 hours; semester 1 and/or 2 30%
003 Voice training; 2 hours; pass/fail; during semester 1 and/or 2 %
