JOU6013 - Advanced Digital Journalism

Objectives:

Assessment tasks are designed to enable students to demonstrate the Learning and Employability outcomes for the relevant level of study. Level Learning Outcomes are embedded in the assessment task(s) at that level. This enables a more integrated view of overall student performance at each level.

Content:

This module allows students to pursue an individual digital journalism project which brings together the skills they have developed during the course of their studies by creating their own professional portfolio. Students will use their writing, video and audio skills but also pull in photographic and data journalism skills for their online project. This requires them to demonstrate an ability to identify their audience, and plan and produce suitable content for multi-platform delivery. They will acquire a range of online journalism skills.

Students will also have the opportunity to take forward the audio and visual skills acquired in Levels 4 and 5 and to develop skills in relation to producing stories for an online audience.
