Assessment tasks are designed to enable students to demonstrate the Learning and Employability outcomes for the relevant level of study. Level Learning Outcomes are embedded in the assessment task(s) at that level. This enables a more integrated view of overall student performance at each level.
Sports Journalists on this module are split into teams and run competing newsrooms covering sport. Within those teams they are given rolling responsiblities (such as Editor, Video, Social Media, Syndication). The aim of the website is to produce excellent sports coverage and build a significant online audience.
Students will undertake two Media Law refresher sessions at the start of the year.

Portfolios: both portfolios comprise pieces created as part of the newsroom exercise and may take the form of audio, video or written content. The aim of the exercise is to replicate a realistic scenario and the portfolio work should demonstrate the ability to produce industry-ready content.
Exit Interview: this is a short interview outlining the skills gained on the course as a whole, industry relevant experience, and career planning.
Early Assessment: there will be a formative assessment within the first 4 weeks and this will help unpack the assignment details for the 1st assignment as well as guide and inform student preparation and help introduce the University grading system.
