FDA5003 - Safeguarding and Promoting

Objectives:

Assessment tasks are designed to enable students to demonstrate the Learning and Employability outcomes for the relevant level of study. Level Learning Outcomes are embedded in the assessment task(s) at that level. This enables a more integrated view of overall student performance at each level.

Content:

This module explore issues, policies and approaches regarding the safeguarding and protection of children, young people and families, including an evaluation of the strategies available. This module enables you to recognise the children, young people and families who may be most at risk and consider the role of multi-agency professionals in supporting positive outcomes to be achieved. You will explore a case study which will become the basis for a professional debate, and subsequently, individually reflect on how these issues connect to your own professional remit.

Further details relating to assessment
Students will explore a case study which will become the basis for a professional debate, and subsequently, individually reflect on how these issues connect to their own professional remit. The professional debate will take place before the end of the block with individual reflection submitted at the end of block.

Students will have opportunities for formative assessment across the year and in particular during consolidation week. This will help unpack the assignment details for the 1st assignment as well as guide and inform student preparation in line with the University grading system.
