FDA4043 - Creating an Ideal Play Environment

Objectives:

Assessment tasks are designed to enable students to demonstrate the Learning and Employability outcomes for the relevant level of study. Level Learning Outcomes are embedded in the assessment task(s) at that level. This enables a more integrated view of overall student performance at each level.

Content:

This module explores how effective relationships are built with young children and how attachment supports early learning within work-based settings. You consider how enrichment activities can enhance and extend an enabling environment, supporting all areas of learning, including early communication skills. The role of professionals in supporting the home learning environment is considered, with suggestions to enhance working practices.

The presentation will outline features of an enabling environment. The reflection assessment will explore the role of professionals in supporting play environments.

Students will have opportunities for formative assessment across the year to guide and inform their preparation in line with the University grading system.
