CYP6163 - Work-related Project

Objectives:

Assessment tasks are designed to enable students to demonstrate the Learning and Employability outcomes for the relevant level of study. Level Learning Outcomes are embedded in the assessment task(s) at that level. This enables a more integrated view of overall student performance at each level.

Content:

Semester 1: An Ethics Statement from the students will address ethical issues of their research. As ethical issues cannot be separated from methodological procedure, the ethic statement will need to be contextualised in a Research Design Brief. The students will explore what they hope to study and formulate their proposed methodological approach. They will also undertake a literature review.

Semester 2: In this largely self-managed, work-based module, students will investigate an element of their own practice; gathering data, evaluating it and presenting their findings in the context of relevant theory and studies. They will discuss their methodological approach. Students are expected to demonstrate an ability to analyse their reading in a Findings/Discussions section and report these in an appropriate format. There will be tutorial time allocated to support students in this semester.
