CYP6113 - The Early Years Professional

Objectives:

Assessment tasks are designed to enable students to demonstrate the Learning and Employability outcomes for the relevant level of study. Level Learning Outcomes are embedded in the assessment task(s) at that level. This enables a more integrated view of overall student performance at each level.

Content:

In this module, students will critically engage with the concept, principles, development and application of the professionalisation of the Early Years workforce, with reference to national and international socio-historical contexts, research findings, theoretical principles, government policy, key strategies, current national and ethical professional standards and policy and practice. Students will evaluate their own experience and practice with reference to key themes and contemporary issues and anticipate future potential development. They will justify the context and development of early years professional practice. Students will also critically assess the impact of leadership and management in the workplace. Altogether this will provide the opportunity to meet the requirements of the Early Childhood Graduate Practitioner competencies.
