Assessment tasks are designed to enable students to demonstrate the Learning and Employability outcomes for the relevant level of study. Level Learning Outcomes are embedded in the assessment task(s) at that level. This enables a more integrated view of overall student performance at each level.
Building upon previous modules of study, students explore the concepts of leadership within the multi-professional integrated workforce involved in supporting the health, education and welfare of babies, young child and their families. The roles and different theoretical approaches to leadership are considered through research informed practice and how these interconnects with drivers for sustainability across the profession.
The impact of leadership on team working, inter-professional roles, and personal wellbeing will be evaluated and critically analysed using a dynamic case study. There is a strong focus on leadership supporting partnerships with parents and enhancing the home learning environment, as key tools to improve outcomes for children and families. Sustainable early years leadership is critiqued in the context of cultural differences, ethical approaches and social justice.
