BMM5173 - International Business Strategies

Objectives:

Assessment tasks are designed to enable students to demonstrate the Learning and Employability outcomes for the relevant level of study. Level Learning Outcomes are embedded in the assessment task(s) at that level. This enables a more integrated view of overall student performance at each level.

Content:

This module will introduce students to the exciting world of international business and equip them with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in a global marketplace. The module will cover various aspects of international business, including cultural differences, market entry strategies and globalisation.

Through the study of international business strategies, students will learn about the opportunities and challenges of conducting business across borders. They will develop a comprehensive understanding of the various factors impacting on international trade. Emphasis will be placed on developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills, as well as hands-on experience analysing real-world case studies.

Report: students will write an individual report critically evaluating international business strategies, focusing on a chosen organisation.

Group Presentation: students will work as a team to develop a presentation proposing an internationalisation strategy and plan for a chosen organisation.

Throughout this module, formative assessment and feed-forward techniques, such as in-class activities and peer-reviewed presentations, will be utilised to monitor student progress. Additionally, the module promotes student involvement and agency by integrating co-created assessments, allowing students complete autonomy in their choice of organisations.
