Further details relating to assessment
The assessment for SHN 5182 Sociology of Sport provides the student with an opportunity to explore a range of sociological issues. These include gender, ethnicity and disability, as well as an exploration of the complex relationship between sport, sponsors and the media. There is also an opportunity for the students to consider topics related to sociology and associated societal issues. Time spent in taught sessions and, in particular, workshops afford the students time to identify specific areas of interest from research and present informally to their peers. These micro presentations are a formative assessment that are then developed for integration in the final portfolio submission.
