On successful completion of the module, students will be able to:
Demonstrate the application of psychological concepts and theories in the workplace;
Demonstrate knowledge of job/career entry analysis for a named job/career in psychology;
Demonstrate reflective evaluation of their strengths and weaknesses across a range of key employability skills;
Apply employability skills in the workplace and perform to a satisfactory standard.
A professional development programme comprising:
1 Introduction to Professional Development Planning and Placements at Level 5;
2 Workshop sessions including, for example,
- team work
- assessment centre tasks
- briefings on Placement Partnership Office procedures, skills and preparation for attachment/assessment
- international and cultural perspectives
3 Interview with Placement Tutor.A professional development programme comprising:
Placement with suitable organisation(s), normally six weeks in total.
Reflection and evaluation of the placement.
Tutor-led discussion amongst progress tutees
Day conference and workshop sessions: presentations, briefings, discussions, practical activities relating to the requirements of the preparatory portfolio and report
Individual tutorials with Placement Tutor/Progress Tutor before placement starts.
