MFC6022 - Creative Media

Objectives:

On successful completion of the module, students will be able to:
Deliver a detailed design concept/pre-vis/development presentation for a piece of creative media.
Produce a piece of creative media which demonstrates professional aptitude and process.
Demonstrate applied practical skill in their chosen field.

Content:

In this module, students have the opportunity to employ the knowledge and technical skills obtained through previous modules to produce something substantial for their career portfolio. The artefact may take a range of forms - a short audio-visual piece, a photography exhibition or book, a web site or some other media artefact. It is intended that the term 'artefact' be interpreted broadly. Each student will propose and negotiate an appropriate concept for the project. It is required that the student be able to provide an evidenced proposal to support their concept. The module coordinator must approve the original concept before the student proceeds. The student will demonstrate their research, planning and development in the form of a presentation in the second half of Semester 1. Group work is not permitted.

Learning and Teaching Information:

The scheme below assumes recruitment of 50.

This module involves a high level of independent study/work supported by individual tutorials and online support.

Feedback for the presentation will be given live and recorded to audio, to be distributed later (but before the end of semester).

Students are expected to make full use of all members of staff when seeking technical support and queries.
