Objectives:

On successful completion of the module, students will be able to:
Appraise complex qualitative and quantitative research practices
Evaluate the effectiveness of specific research methodology through analysis of a wide variety of peer reviewed journal studies
Conduct a critical analysis of a quantitative dataset
Appraise debates within and around contemporary research methodology and around ethics and research

Content:

Understanding quantitative research and qualitative research. Identifying specific research methodologies in relation to research questions.
Contemporary debates in research methodology. Research methodology and ethics. Developing research proposals. Critique of research methodology.
