On successful completion of the module, students will be able to:
Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of national curriculum aims and content in relation to secondary athletic and outdoor and adventurous activities.
Demonstrate ability to apply progressive learning to short term planning, showing understanding and application of learning objectives and outcomes, differentiation, teaching points and safety.
Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the nature of and influences on physical growth and the development of motor skills.
Appraise the contribution of athletic activities towards health-related exercise and lifelong participation in physical activity.

Students are expected to attend 100% in all modules. Attendance that falls below 75% in the PE modules will fail and students will be required to re-sit each module at the discretion of the Head of Department.
Practical resit opportunities will be available in the University resit period.
Students must gain a pass in the pass/fail component.
