Objectives:

(b) build on prior knowledge, develop concepts and processes, enable learners to apply new knowledge, understanding and skills and meet learning objectives;
(c) adapt their language to suit the learners they teach, introducing new ideas and concepts clearly, and using explanations, questions, discussions and plenaries effectively;
(d) manage the learning of individuals, groups and whole classes, modifying their teaching to suit the stage of the lesson. A

Content:

i. Establish effective working relationships with colleagues, parents and carers
ii. Demonstrate understanding of their own and others roles within school
iii. Demonstrate high expectations of children as learners and develop constructive and supportive relationships with them
iv. Contribute and share in the corporate life of the school and take responsibility for implementation of school policies and practice
v. Undertake lesson observations of established teachers in order to evaluate and learn from effective practice.
vi. Plan and teach series of lessons across the curriculum that allows children to apply literacy, numeracy and ICT skills.
vii. Demonstrate independence in planning, teaching and assessing focused activities across all Areas of Learning, areas of enhanced and continuous provision and lead the setting or a in English, maths ,science and non-core subjects depending on the trainees placement
viii. Use a range of assessment strategies that enable them to set challenging learning objectives
ix. Provide effective feedback on pupil attainment that identifies pupil progress and supports individual learning needs
x. Complete records as a basis for reporting on pupils’ attainment and progress orally and in writing, concisely, informatively and accurately for parents, carers, other professionals and pupils.
xi. Plan for opportunities outside the classroom context that will enhance children’s learning
xii. Establish the use of frameworks that promote classroom discipline and demonstrate positive values in creating a purposeful and safe learning environment.
xiii. Reflect upon and evaluate their own teaching and engage in the coaching and mentoring process in order to develop their professional needs.
