On successful completion of the module, students will be able to:
1 demonstrate an awareness of a range of qualitative research techniques;
2 demonstrate knowledge of appropriate methodological applications across a range of research situations;
3 Prepare a small-scale research proposal;
4 Plan, conduct and evaluate a small group research project relating to young people and physical activity
5 Write a research report

Principles of successful teamwork. Determining a research question, writing a literature review, planning and designing data collection methods, data analysis and report writing. Limitations and delimitations.
Total student contact time = 40 hours. Independent study will be approximately 100 hours made up of reading, data collection, preparation for tutorials, workshops and seminars.
