MKT5282 - Practical Marketing Communications

Objectives:

On successful completion of the module, students will be able to:

(1) Identify and understand different types of media communications and the relevance of the promotional mix.
(2) Consider the practical application of marketing communications and gain an appreciation of the techniques utilised in marketing communications.
(3) Identify the practical elements of marketing communications and devise a portfolio of complimentary promotional material.

Content:

Marketing communication is made up of a wide range of different elements. It is through this module that students will be encouraged to identify these different elements and explore them in more detail. This will be done in a practical manner with students developing areas of interest, whether it be web site design, direct marketing, PR or a range of other specialist areas. Also students will learn to critically analyse techniques utilized in marketing communications in terms of the use of branding, copy, colour, words and sensory appeal.
