MFC4032 - Radio and Television Production

Objectives:

On successful completion of the module, students will be able to:

1. demonstrate a basic competence in television studio operations;
2. demonstrate a basic competence in radio studio operations and location sound recording and editing;
3. demonstrate a basic competence in scripting for Media;
4. evaluate their learning in a written format

Content:

The module is organized in two cycles.

1. Radio Production will include the use of the portable digital audio recorder, principles of digital editing and recording exercises; interview techniques, scripting, personal confidence, voice and body language; scripting and recording for radio using the radio studio.

2. Television Studio will include a studio familiarisation exercise; introduction to the main elements of the TV studio and gallery; scripting, performance and production.
