Objectives:

On successful completion of the module, students will be able to:

1 Demonstrate a systematic understanding of multi-platform news delivery methods
2 Apply relevant and appropriate story treatments to different delivery platforms
3 Undertake relevant research and interviews for multi-platform stories
4 Demonstrate initiative and self-management in undertaking individual projects

Content:

This module allows students to pursue an individual journalism project which brings together the writing, online and broadcast skills they have developed and allows them to demonstrate an ability to handle stories for multi-platform delivery.

Further assessment information
The portfolio will normall include a combination of written work, video, audio or captioned photo-gallery, utilising a number of platforms to tell a story. It will also include a 1,000-word critical reflection of the portfolio.

001 Proposal 1 x 1000 words (During Sem 1) 20%
002 Portfolio 1 x 5000 word equivalent (End of Sem 2) 80%
