FSL4192 - Higher Level Teaching Assistance Preparation (Level 4)

Objectives:

On successful completion of the module, students will be able to:

1. demonstrate an ability to effectively communicate information and analysis through presenting written reflective tasks concerning activities carried out in school which demonstrate and evaluate personal competence in relation to the HLTA standards
2. demonstrate competence in identifying and presenting evidence which appropriately demonstrates their own ability in relation to the HLTA standards

Content:

• Familiarity with the HLTA standards
• Exploration of evidence-based assessment strategies and identification of appropriate evidence
• Opportunities to reflect on their own role and competence in relation to the given standard
• Development of reflective and evaluative writing skills

Learning and Teaching Information:

Level 4 modules will provide a foundation level of knowledge and understanding of supporting learning. In addition to the required subject knowledge, the modules will introduce students to key skills and enable them to develop the necessary academic skills.

A key teaching and learning strategy used in this module will be supported individual review
