Content:

This module will focus on:
• Individual roles at work, types of workplace behaviour and motivation
• Group / team formation and structure
• The design, building and maintenance of teams
• The structure of public sector and charitable organisations
• Organisational culture, conflict and control

In addressing the above, participants will:
• Identify relevant practical issues in their own places of work
• Compare and contrast their experiences with those of others

• Use these perspectives to develop a broader understanding of their place of work

The module starts with a focus on the individual and then progresses to an examination of interpersonal and group dynamics. It culminates with an examination of organisations as a whole and how they are controlled. This provides a basis for the level 5 module, Leading and Managing.
