EDS6032 - Project

Objectives:

On successful completion of the module, students will be able to:

1 Evaluate a range of literature and research related to a defined field of study
2 Critically evaluate data gathered related to the project focus
3 Critically reflect on the relationship between their reading and the data collected and draw conclusions from their findings and evaluation

Content:

In this module students will be expected to choose a focus drawn from a personal interest related to an aspect of their degree programme.

They will evaluate a range of literature, journals, research etc. related to this focus and from this choose a particular aspect to investigate for themselves.

Students will carry out a data gathering exercise using, for example, interview, statistical analysis, observation, small scale questionnaire. They will evaluate the data gathered and critically review the relationship between their data and their initial research review.

Learning and Teaching Information:

After an initial lecture related to module expectations, students will be expected to manage their time, with some tutorial support.

001 20 minute orial presentation of research (January) 15%
002 1 x 4000 word project (end of semester 2) 85%
