Some of the difficulties of carrying out research with young people with disabilities will be explored including the ethical and methodological challenges involved. ‘Emancipatory’ disability research will be evaluated. Issues associated with a variety of modes of social exclusion will be explored. Part of the module will be concerned with ‘special educational needs’ and in what way curriculum provision and support is, and ought to be, made available to pupils with such needs.
