BUS7023 - Entrepreneurship, Regulations and Risk Management

Objectives:

On successful completion of the module, students will be able to:

1 - Cultivate an entrepreneurial mindset, fostering creativity and innovation in financial technology
2 - Demonstrate familiarity with responsible and sustainable finance practices
3 - Understand the regulatory environment and legal considerations specific to financial technology
4 - Identify and manage risks unique to financial technology including cybersecurity and data privacy concerns
5 - Address ethical considerations in financial technology entrepreneurship, regulatory compliance and risk management.

Content:

The learning outcomes are designed to ensure that students are well-equipped to navigate the dynamic landscape of financial technology combining entrepreneurial skills, regulatory understanding and risk management expertise for successful careers in the financial technology industry. The following are indicative module content:

3. Regulatory Compliance in Financial Technology
4. Risk Management in Financial Technology
5. Ethical Decision-Making in Financial Technology.

Learning and Teaching Information:

The module aims to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of research methods and analytics principles and their practical applications in business. In a workshop setting, the learning and teaching will be centred around case studies, ensuring that students are well-equipped to apply the qualitative and quantitative techniques to real-world challenges. There are several software tools and platforms available for analytics. The choice of software often depends on the specific requirements of the analysis, the scale of the data and the preferences of the users. We will source the appropriate software to provide the best student experience.
