The learning outcomes are designed to ensure that students are well-equipped to navigate the dynamic landscape of financial technology combining entrepreneurial skills, regulatory understanding and risk management expertise for successful careers in the financial technology industry. The following are indicative module content:

For this module, a variety of learning and teaching methods will be employed to address diverse learning styles and achieve the stated learning outcomes.
1. Lectures and Guest Speakers: traditional lectures for conveying foundational concepts, theories and frameworks related to entrepreneurship, regulations and risk management in financial technology. Further, guest speakers will be invited from industry experts, entrepreneurs and regulatory professionals for specialised insights and real-world perspectives.
2. Workshops: interactive workshops using real-world case studies will be conducted for collaborative problem-solving, regulatory compliance exercises and risk management simulations. Also, debates and discussions will be organised on ethical dilemmas in financial technology, encouraging students to explore different perspectives and solutions.
Further, site visits will be organised to FinTech events, startups, incubators, accelerators and regulatory agencies to provide students with practical exposure and networking opportunities.

Case Study Report - will require students to apply theoretical knowledge of financial technology business models, regulations and risk management. Students will be required to produce a case study report as per the instructions below:
1. Select a financial technology area of interest (e.g. payments, lending, blockchain, financial inclusion, etc)
2. Develop a comprehensive business model (taking into consideration the entrepreneurial mindset) for the financial technology in your chosen area
3. Clearly define the value proposition, customer segments, revenue streams and key partnerships
4. Assess and discuss the potential regulatory challenges and compliance considerations
5. Identify and analyse possible risks associated with the proposed financial technology business model
6. Provide recommendations for risk mitigation and regulatory compliance strategies.
Formative feedback on module activities will be present throughout the module.
