Assessment tasks are designed to enable students to demonstrate the Learning and Employability outcomes for the relevant level of study. Level Learning Outcomes are embedded in the assessment task(s) at that level. This enables a more integrated view of overall student performance at each level.
The module will explore the relationship between nutrition, exercise and health. The module will cover nutritional content related to metabolism of macronutrients; energy release during exercise; the nature of body composition. The role of macronutrients and micronutrients in exercise will be evaluated with specific considerations for dietary planning. Consideration of the role of nutrition and dietary planning in exercising individuals, from different cultures as well as in clinical populations such as diabetes, obesity, cognitive functioning and mental ill-health. Practical laboratory sessions will explore responses to exercise and dietary analysis. The module will include the competencies required for the CIMSPA personal training professional standard.

Assessment 001: Portfolio will consist of several activities which will include personal training programme planning, practical assessment and reflection.
Students will undertake a 30minute assessed Practical in the Gym as part of the CIMSPA Personal Training professional standard.
Formative feedback will be provided at the mid semester and end semester point. In addition, learning activities during the module also provide opportunity for formative feedback to support the summative assessments.
