Assessment tasks are designed to enable students to demonstrate the Learning and Employability outcomes for the relevant level of study. Level Learning Outcomes are embedded in the assessment task(s) at that level. This enables a more integrated view of overall student performance at each level.
In understanding the individual client or performer, this module introduces the fundamental anatomy and physiology. This module will cover principles of anatomy and physiology including the musculoskeletal system, the respiratory system, cardiovascular system, nervous and endocrine systems, and energy metabolism and use.
You will make links between underpinning principles and practical work conducted in the applied setting specific to your programme of study. This module will also help introduce core aspects of research and enquiry, such as how to read and utilise research articles, how to conduct basic literature searches and make appropriate use of the Learning Centre services.

Lab Portfolio: The lab portfolio will be based around a series of weekly tasks, with submission at the end of Semester 1. The weekly tasks will incorporate a range of activities from quizzes, reflective writing, case study analysis, analysing and interpreting data and providing overviews of protocols relevant to specific weeks.
The lab portfolio will draw upon the students’ learning throughout the module and form a basis of underpinning approaches for their subsequent years of study.
Formative assessment: Will be designed to help encourage progression of weekly tasks in line with the summative assessment requirements.
