Assessment tasks are designed to enable students to demonstrate the Learning and Employability outcomes for the relevant level of study. Level Learning Outcomes are embedded in the assessment task(s) at that level. This enables a more integrated view of overall student performance at each level.
The module builds on PSY5043 Counselling Psychology in Theory and Practice and considers broader delivery issues and client ideosyncracies including modes of delivery, counselling in poverty and unemployment, religion and spirituality, family counselling and international and cross cultural counselling. The module and programme concludes with consideration of future directions, including positive psychology, mindfulness and Eastern philosophies. Assessment is set within a case study and is designed to explore the contemporary ethical, social, political, cultural, pluralistic and international context of counselling psychology.
