Assessment tasks are designed to enable students to demonstrate the Learning and Employability outcomes for the relevant level of study. Level Learning Outcomes are embedded in the assessment task(s) at that level. This enables a more integrated view of overall student performance at each level.
In this module, students tackle the third and final section of the Creating Content pathway, in which they develop a professional understanding of the processes required to create high-quality content for TV online and any other platform. To further demonstrate their understanding, students will give a live 5-minute pitch for their programme idea and create a professional pitch deck in Semester 1.
In Semester 2, they devote their time to creating a project of their own devising – in any genre or platform. It can be a factual documentary, drama, comedy, studio-based TV show, or content for an online platform.

A live 5-minute presentation to pitch their programme idea. The pitch will include a detailed pitch deck.

The 10-minute programme can be in any genre or platform – including an online channel – but must be supported by a comprehensive production pack including a proposal, shotlist, filming & lighting plans, mood board and detailed pre-production paperwork.
Assessment 3: Students must display a detailed grasp of the demands of professional-standard production in whatever genre or platform they choose in a 1,500-word critical evaluation, spelling out areas in which they still need to improve.
Early Assessment: there will be a formative assessment within the first 4 weeks and this will help unpack the assignment details for the 1st assignment as well as guide and inform student preparation and help introduce the University grading system.
