Assessment tasks are designed to enable students to demonstrate the Learning and Employability outcomes for the relevant level of study. Level Learning Outcomes are embedded in the assessment task(s) at that level. This enables a more integrated view of overall student performance at each level.
In this module, students will examine the nature and structure of digital media and explore the concept of ‘new media’ from a historical, analytical, cultural, and socio-political perspective.
Furthermore, students will be critically involved in an on-going discussion on the difference between mass communication and digital networked communication within our contemporary technological convergent society.
Among the topics covered in the module are: digital screens and the body, hypertextuality and authorship, remix and intertextuality, interactivity and immersion, mobile media and communication, and online tracking and creativity.
