Assessment tasks are designed to enable students to demonstrate the Learning and Employability outcomes for the relevant level of study. Level Learning Outcomes are embedded in the assessment task(s) at that level. This enables a more integrated view of overall student performance at each level.
This module develops academic skills through a focus on critical analysis of the off-the-field aspects of sports reporting. It builds on the theoretical elements from Level 4, demonstrating how academic understanding can enhance and sharpen journalistic practice. Students investigate the influence of social, economic and political power on the media presentation of global sports, exploring the way different theories can throw light on a range of bigger stories.
