Assessment tasks are designed to enable students to demonstrate the Learning and Employability outcomes for the relevant level of study. Level Learning Outcomes are embedded in the assessment task(s) at that level. This enables a more integrated view of overall student performance at each level.
In this module, students will be introduced to the QTS standards and evaluate how they apply to practice in schools. They will evaluate teaching strategies and conditions for learning, addressing the personalised learning agenda, SEND, EAL and inclusion issues to be accommodated in planning, delivery, assessment and evaluation. Students will be expected to plan and deliver a teaching session, resulting in a critical evaluation of the impact this session made on pupil learning and the requirements for future planning. They will critically consider effective and ethical conditions for learning, learning inhibitors and the creation of an effective learning environment, including comparisons with international perspectives and leadership and management.
