Work-based projects are unique in their content because their rationale, aims and objectives are drawn up by student apprentice as part of the ‘Learning Agreement’, produced at the beginning of the programme; this agreement plans their whole programme and is agreed and signed by their employer.
Work-based projects are located in the student apprentice’s workplace, and relate directly to their job role and work activities. The content and scope of the projects are also subject to an official ‘project proposal’ which is the assessment within this module.
Apprentices studying for the BSc (Hons.) Professional Practice in Business to Business Sales will undertake this particular project in order to complete their degree, their apprenticeship and fulfil all of the requirements of the degree apprenticeship standard’s assessment plan.
Typically delivered on a blended learning basis with a combination of workshops and on-line support.

Further details relating to assessment
The assessment for this module is the End-Point Assessment of the integrated Business to Business Sales Professional Degree Apprenticeship, with the exception of the project proposal, and will be conducted under the rules determined in the Apprenticeship Standard Assessment Plan.
The EPA takes place in the final 6-months of the programme with the work-based project and presentation taking place in the penultimate month and the sales pitch and interview taking place in the final month (on the same day).
The sales pitch context will be set by an Independent EPA Assessor and provided to the learner a week in advance of the pitch. The interview will be based on the learner’s e-portfolio/journal which has been developed throughout the apprenticeship, and will be structured according to individual areas of strength and weakness to enable the learner to demonstrate competence against the Apprenticeship Standard’s knowledge, skills and behaviours. The Learning Journal/e-portfolio should therefore be finalised by the time the project report is submitted for assessment.
The results of this module will determine the grading of the apprenticeship as follows:
Work Based Project and Presentation Grade/Sales Pitch and Panel Interview Grade = Overall Apprenticeship Grade
Distinction/Distinction=DISTINCTION
Distinction/Pass=MERIT
Distinction/Merit=MERIT
Merit/Distinction=MERIT
Merit/Merit=MERIT
Merit/Pass=PASS
Pass/Merit=PASS

Fail//Pass=FAIL
Pass/Fail=FAIL
The module assessments will be marked by the project supervisor and the results will contribute to the award of the degree in accordance with the University’s Programme Regulations for Taught Undergraduate Degrees.
Only one re-sit will be permitted, in accordance with the Apprenticeship Standard Assessment Plan rules. Apprentices who have failed the EPA and are permitted to re-sit will be provided with an Individual Support Plan.
