On successful completion of the module, students will be able to:
Demonstrate engagement with placement/employer to facilitate negotiation and development of a relevant health/social care project for the setting and develop a learning agreement with realistic project aims and objectives.
Demonstrate the ability to identify, evaluate and make appropriate use of a range of knowledge and evidence sources and select appropriate professional and academic communication methods for the design of the project.
Critically consider ethical implications and professional accountability relating to the project, identify how these will be managed and where appropriate submit an ethics application.
Make reasoned judgements on the selection of approaches to the research methodology, data collection techniques and data analysis and explain how these are appropriate to the aims and objectives of the WBL research project.
Analyse and evaluate how the WBL project has been planned and managed, demonstrating critical reflection upon the project management cycle, design, conduct and outcomes of the WBL Project.
The rationale, aims and objectives of this module are drawn up by students in the 'learning agreement'. It follows that each negotiated module will be unique in terms of its aims.
Typically delivered on a blended learning basis with a combination of workshops and on-line support.
