Assessment tasks are designed to enable students to demonstrate the Learning and Employability outcomes for the relevant level of study. Level Learning Outcomes are embedded in the assessment task(s) at that level. This enables a more integrated view of overall student performance at each level.
The module will introduce psychological factors which influence health and wellbeing including lifestyle, personality, mental health, motivation and risk taking. You will make links between major psychological theories, concepts and models applying these to health promotion as well as prevention and treatment of disease and illness. You will develop knowledge and understanding of how people react to, cope with, and recover from illness including cognitive processes, behavioural insights, behaviour change and self-management. Finally, you will consider the importance of health literacy, digital health technology and personalised care on self-management of health and wellbeing.

Further details relating to assessment
Post session activities submitted through Moodle will facilitate ongoing formative assessment opportunities via lecturer or peer feedback, these may include responses to case studies, quizzes, forum posts or blogs and self-assessment. One draft opportunity will be provided for each assessment with feedback provided at least one week prior to summative submission.
Poster Presentation: You will select one psychological theory covered in the module and create an academic poster that relates the theory to perspectives on health and wellbeing. You will present your poster to peers and defend it with Q & A.
Portfolio: The portfolio will be based upon an extended case study. You will complete 2 tasks including (1) review a behaviour change model and its application to support lifestyle change (2) produce a report explaining how motivational interviewing can support service users’ engagement with behaviour change, considering communication skills and how to build positive relationships.
