Objectives:

On successful completion of the module, students will be able to:
Assess the management requirements of an organisation or derive requirements with a supervisor.
Apply knowledge of current sport management practice in a professional manner.
Contribute effectively to an established professional sports setting.
Execute the management requirements to a professional standard.
Provide an in-depth rationale for the work conducted, reflecting on the placement and its management context.

Content:

The module provides a structured opportunity to combine appropriate developmental work experience with academic study. The placement will provide the opportunity for the students to develop appropriate vocational and applied academic knowledge.

Learning and Teaching Information:

The centrepiece of the module, in terms of delivery is a 60-hour (minimum) work placement in a sport management setting. Placement learning is supported by two introductory workshops and ongoing pastoral support.
