Content:

The module allows students to explore and develop a project as a means of bringing about innovative and meaningful changes to an organisation. Practical strategies are developed and implemented in a group setting, allowing participants to fully appreciate the complexities and necessities of synergistic group effort. Students are randomly placed into groups consisting of no more than five students and are challenged to develop unity of purpose, co-operation and measurable results. Team building skills require that group members negotiate the rules that will govern the activities of their group and that they set objectives permitting them to compete effectively against other teams. Socratic instruction is offered by the tutor, freeing the teams to establish their own structural and creative orientations. The goal for each team is to realise maximum performance and results through creative and non-linear thinking.

• Project and strategy-defining parameters, setting objectives, creating synergy of purpose through teamwork, assessing outcomes and revaluation
• Stimulating creativity and understanding the value of Innovation and Change
• Utilisation and management of information (data generation and analysis)
• The dynamics of co-operation and teamwork
• Managing the plan, allocating and implementing the process
