Objectives:

On successful completion of the module, students will be able to:

1 Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of theories of learning;
2 Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of task, learner and teacher factors affecting learning
3 Critically evaluate practice methods and teaching styles
4 Assess and account for their own learning of a selected physical activity
5 Demonstrate understanding of the aims and content of gymnastics and dance taught in primary school at key stage 1 & 2
6 Plan and construct progressive primary gymnastics & dance lessons with clear teaching objectives, tasks, teaching points, safety issues, progressive targets, observation and feedback.
7 Demonstrate understanding of how to create an effective learning environment
8 Demonstrate knowledge of the key partners to work with in the community
