MFC6532 - Mobile Media

Objectives:

On successful completion of the module, students will be able to:
Produce a multi-platform mobile device compatible application
Evaluate the usability, performance and development production processes
Demonstrate production standards and project management
Research and explain the requirements for directed digital media production
Use industry standard toolsets, media, software and online resources

Content:

This module provides experience for the commercial development environment by developing a mobile application, from brief and conceptualisation through to production and testing it to final deployment, launch and promotion via Android, Apple or Windows App stores.

Part 1 will kick-start methods for early prototyping, research, testing and investigation into user requirements and the publishing platform culminating with a definitive briefing presentation.

Part 2 will have two goals: completion and promotion. Here students will rollout their alpha, beta and v1.0 solutions live and commercially online and engage with their market/end users in the e/commercial environment and redevelopment phase.

Learning and Teaching Information:

Students will be supported in the process of product creation and encouraged to develop/deploy their product in a commercial environment by engagement with industry practice.
