On successful completion of the module, students will be able to:
1 Demonstrate a critical understanding of the national picture with regard to the perception and employment of HLTAs referring to national research findings
2 Reflect on perceptions of workforce reforms expressed formally and informally within and beyond their setting, including the impact of these on their own practice
3 Demonstrate an ability to effectively analyse, evaluate, communicate and support their personal competence in relation to the HLTA standards.
4 Present evidence that demonstrates their own competence in relation to the HLTA standards using appropriate written discipline
• Knowledge of relevant research and historical perspective
• Investigation and understanding of influences currently affecting their own and other workplaces
• Familiarity with the HLTA standards
• Opportunities to reflect on their own role and competence in relation to the given standards
• Write in appropriate form relating own practice to competence in national standards
At Level 5 it is expected that students will know and understand the essential mechanics of HE study and be able to work more independently in resourcing and researching their learning. Work at Level 5 will emphasize the application and analysis of theory and develop the skills of critical reasoning.
