Objectives:

On successful completion of the module, students will be able to:

1 Demonstrate critical reflection of your health and wellbeing role in a selected organisation through a learning journal.
2 Demonstrate action planning and development of personal and professional goals.
3 Identify a work-based issue, propose and justify one or more ethically appropriate solutions demonstrating a sophisticated understanding of the issue and its context and creativity in problem solving.
4 Demonstrate effective communication with work colleagues and a wider audience using a variety of media.

Content:

Principles of reflective practice.
Factors affecting, and strategies for maintaining personal and professional wellbeing.
Identifying and developing a professional toolkit.
Effective communication.

Other Relevant Matters
In order to commence this module a student must be able to undertake a health and wellbeing role and identify a specific issue/problem to focus on within a professional setting. This may, or may not be part of the “normal” working role. A learning contract between the student, employer and college supervisor will be agreed. The employer will be asked to provide ongoing confirmation of the student’s module-related engagement in the organisation. A minimum of 60 hours must be spent in the professional setting.
