PPP6033 - Leadership

Objectives:

On successful completion of the module, students will be able to:

1 Identify the key issues in management and leadership of personnel within their profession and across professional boundaries
2 Critically discuss key theories and practice relating to leadership & management within their work setting
3 Critically reflect on their own experiences of leadership, their preferred leadership style and how they could develop professionally in this area

Content:

In this module students will reflect on a range of leadership theories and evaluate the impact of these on their own professional context. They will identify core competencies and analyse implications at a strategic level as well as for those with whom they work as a colleague or in a mentoring/support relationship.

Learning and Teaching Information:

Learning will take place in interactive sessions incorporating theoretical input, discussion, debate, ICT research and student presentation. Students will be supported by VLE materials, constructed reading and research tasks and workshop sessions.
